I'm 38 years young, and a SW Florida local. I started as a hip hop scratch dj at 13 years old. At 15 I got lucky and was snuck into my first rave party. The Parthenon in Tampa, Fl. seeing all those beautiful ravers dancing and loving each other. No matter what I guess most people would describe it as a spiritual
experience. So I got a fake I.D. and from Thursday to Sunday, I was in the clubs. I finally ended up at an after party which was actually just a house party at some dudes house at 12 in the afternoon. The owner of Mars lighting was there although at the time I didn't know. The guy who was spinning was one of the DJs from the club. Like I said I had already been DJing scratch/hip hop music for 3 years before I ever even went to my 1st rave. I was 16 I was the youngest person in the house by a lot of years. I kept asking the dude if I could give it a shot on the decks, and he kept blowing me off till about the 10th time I asked him he completely blew up on me, telling me I shouldn't even be there and that no one wants to hear me "train wreck" for an hour. So I looked right at him and said "why not they've been handling you, passing off 10 second cuts as mixes all morning". Just then the guys girl walked up and wanted him to pay attention to her. She was like "just let the little kid play around" I grabbed a DJ rectangle record and proceeded to destroy. No one expected me to be shit. I put that kid to shame. That led to me doing secret sets at Mars. I also did promo.
