I studied Biology in college and worked in a research lab trying to uncover how to prevent recurrent Bacterial Vaginosis infections in women. Then, I worked as a Nurse Aide in a nursing home, helping patients with activities of daily living (showering, feeding, etc). Then, I decided to return to school to earn a Master's to make my resume more appealing to medical schools. I was discouraged because I got rejected at every medical school I had applied to, so I was deeply motivated to work harder than ever to show I could do it. A year into the Master's program, I applied to a medical school in the Caribbean and was accepted. So, I dropped out of the Master's program and started med school in the Caribbean. What an adventure it's been!
